Optimum use of the screen carrier bolt is guaranteed by a patented screen support plate, resulting in a small unit size in relation to the screening area.
 
How a TSD Screen Changer works

The melt is guided to the screen chamber. After flowing through the screen, the melt reaches the downstream equipment. This model has one bolt with only one screen chamber.

In order to change the screen, the bolt is moved hydraulically into a position, which blocks the flow channel. The screen becomes accessible from the outside.

In this position the melt flow is interrupted, therefore requiring the line to be shut down previously.

After the screen has been changed the screen chamber is moved back into production position. Enclosed air escapes via the downstream equipment.

The melt is guided to the screen chamber. After flowing through the screen, the melt reaches the downstream equipment. This model has one bolt with two screen chambers.

In order to change the screen, the bolt is moved hydraulically into a position which makes the screen accessible from the outside. At the same time the second screen is moved into production position.

During this movement the melt flow is interrupted only for a moment, therefore the line does not need to be shut down. The air enclosed in each screen chamber escapes via the downstream equipment.
