Screen Changers
TSK Screen Changer
For continuous operation
An improvement on the double piston systems which have proven their worth for years, which minimise thermal as well as mechanical stress on the product.
Optimum use of the screen carrier bolts is guaranteed by patented screen support plates (breaker plates), resulting in a small unit size in relation to the screening area.
Some important data- throughput rates up to 30,000 kg/hr
- electric heating (special design prepared for oil or steam heating)
- temperatures up to 400 °C
- pressure up to 450 bar (special design upon request)
- made of hardened, nitriding steel (special design: noncorrosive hardened nitriding steel)
Products: PA, PS, POM, PC, PE, PP.PET, ABS, SAN, EVA, PIB, TPE, TPU, Hot Melts, etc.
Processes: compounding, master batching, plastics production, recycling, etc.
Applications: strand pelletizing, under water pelletizing, flat sheet film extrusion, blown film extrusion, pipe extrusion, blow moulding
How a screen changer works

In order to change the screens, one bolt at a time is moved hydraulically into a position that blocks the flow channel. The screen to be changed becomes accessible from the outside; the entire melt flow is maintained through the second screen.
After the screen has been changed, the bolt is moved back into the housing. Before reaching the production position the cleaned screen chamber is flooded with melt in a predetermined position, thus securing trouble-free production.
Patented: our rectangular screen support plate (breaker plate)
The rectangular, curved shape of the screen support plate has the greatest influence on process efficiency.
Our screen support plates permit a considerably thinner wall and therefore shorter borings than the conventional plates. Apart from the screen packs, the flow borings have a considerable influence on the pressure consumption of the system.
By using the curved, rectangular plates the pressure consumption at this spot can be reduced by more than 50%.
