Eagle emblems in Bonn and Berlin
 
In 1994 Trendelkamp reconstructed the eagle with the help of photos and a modern CAD system. According to the resulting construction drawing the crest animal of the Federal Republic of Germany was manufactured from pure aluminium. It has the dimensions of 6.4 x 5.2 meters and a weight of about one metric ton.
 
  
 
The Eagle in Berlin was newly constructed in 1998 based on the sketches of Sir Norman Foster. With 8.5 x 7.0 meters it is bigger than the eagle in Bonn, consists of four layers of aluminium (12 mm each) and has a total weight of approx. 2.5 metric tons.
