The Cologne Transport Services (Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe AG) hired Trendelkamp for covering the assembly pits in their new tramway depot in Köln-Merheim with grates. These grates are tiltable by hand in order to make it possible to maintain the track vehicles.
  
The tilting grate constructions were designed for a maximum working load of 4.25 metric tons, axle load of 4.0 metric tons and point load of 2.0 metric tons. In both end positions the grates are automatically locked. The grates have dimensions of 0.72 x 2.0 meters. In addition to the tilting grates, movable track grates were supplied.
